Ungdommens Musikkmesterskap 2014

Påmelding til Ungdommens MusikkMesterskap 2014 mulig fram til 10. juni

Nå kan du melde deg på til UMM 2014. I år er det solistklasser for strykere, treblåsere, messingblåsere, sangere og gitarister. Videre er konkurransen åpen for duoer og ensembler, slik den er hvert år. 

Våren er påmeldingssesong for UMM. Og i 2014 er påmelding til de ni regionale mesterskapene mulig fram til 10. juni.

Ungdommens musikkmesterskap er en konkurranse i klassisk musikk for barn og ungdom under 26 år bosatt i Norge.

Ungdommens musikkmesterskap arrangeres av Norsk kulturskoleråd, Norges Musikkorps Forbund og Musikkpedagogene Norge.

Norges Ungdomskor samstemt etter øvingshelg i operaen!

Norges Ungdomskor med dirigent Tone Bianca Sparre Dahl forbereder seg til konkurranse i Gorizia i sommer, men før det skal koret på tur til Ungarn og Slovenia.

I midten av juli drar Norges Ungdomskor til Veszprém i Ungarn for å øve i noen dager. I byen arrangeres annet hvert år en korkonkurranse og festival, Vivace festival, den samme organisasjonen som nå tar seg av Norges Ungdomskor sitt opphold. Dagene i Veszprém, avsluttes med konsert og så går turen videre til Slovenia hvor koret synger på Koper International Music Festival og i Postojna. Etter konkurransen i Gorizia avsluttes reisen hjemme i Norge med konsert i Oslo Domkirke den 23.juli.

Forrige helg hadde koret prøvehelg i Den Norske Opera og Ballett og dirigent Tone Bianca var veldig fornøyd med sangernes innsats. Det var høy konkurranse om plassene i år og det merkes på kvaliteten på koret.

Norges Ungdomskor består av 40 sangere fra hele landet som tas ut gjennom prøvesang. Mari Midtli som er 16 år og kommer fra Sel synger i koret, men er også med som solist på fele når koret skal synge folkemusikk. Det har allesammen tro på skal gå hjem i Gorizia!

5. Grieg international Choir Festival

Festival/konkurranse for barne-, ungdoms- og voksenkor i Bergen til høsten. Festivalen har også en egen solistkonkurranse for unge stemmer.

Ung i Kor gratulerer Skedsmo Voices!

Gull og sølv til Skedsmo Voices i internasjonal korkonkurranse!

Vokalensemblet til Skedsmo Voices tok både gull og sølv i korkonkurransen Young  Prague 2013, som gikk av stabelen denne helgen. 15 unge korister fra Skedsmo Voices reiste til Praha som eneste kor fra Norge for å måle seg med utenlandske kor. Det var deltakere fra alle verdensdeler og ungdommene fra Skedsmo møtte store kor som Traverse City West Senior High School Choral-Aires fra USA og Puellae et Pueri fra Tsjekkia, samt andre kor fra Slovenia, Island og Sverige, men dommerne lot seg imponere over den rene klangen og det varierte og spennende repertoaret fra skedsmokoret. 

Vokalensamblet deltok i to kategorier; Mixed Choir og Spiritual, Gospel, jazz and pop, og sang seg til en sølvplass i klassen for mixed choir. Dommerne måtte imidlertid gi seg helt over når koret serverte Fredrik Otterstads arrangement av Griegs Dovergubbens hall og gospellåta Wade in the water i klassen for rytmisk musikk/ spiritual og Gospel. Når Skedsmoungdommen avsluttet et improvisert potpurri over norske folketoner var seieren sikret. I tillegg til korkonkuransen sang Skedsmo Voices konsert i en fullsatt St. Nicholas Chuch i hjertet av Praha. Koret imponerte og det var mange godord i kjølvannet av seieren. Vokalensamblet er også invitert på gjenvisitt til flere kor i Tsjekkia.

Skedsmo voices ble startet av Dirigent Ingrid Danbolt i 2005. På 7 år har koret vokst til å bli et stort kormiljø vi kjenner fra flere konsertarrangementer og ikke minst musikalen Dropout, som har blitt vist både i Lillestrøm, Lørenskog og i Den Norske Opera. Vokalensamblet er en gruppe av de eldste i koret og som gjerne ”strekker seg litt lengre” for å nå sine mål. Og som de har vist: det gir resultater.

The International choir festival "Music & sea" takes place annually in the second half

of September in the beautiful town of Paralia, Greece. The Festival does not have

competitive character and the main concept of the same is joining music, vacation,

friendship and fun. The idea of the Festival is to bring the music closer to the

people and to present the music on the streets and the squares. All choir ensembles,

regardless of the members gender and age can apply for participation at the Festival.

2013 Hong Kong International Youth and Children's Choir Festival

Hong Kong International Youth and Children's Choir Festival (HKIYCCF) ble arrangert første gang i 2006. Mer enn 100 barne- og ungdomskor fra hele verden har deltatt i de tre første festivalene. 

I 2013 inviterer Hong Kong Treble Choir igjen til festival. Datoene er 14. til 19. juli. I tillegg til konserter og konkurranser for og med barne- og ungdomskor, er det også seminarer og kurs for både dirigenter og sangere.

NM for kor 2012

2. og 3. november arrangeres det norgesmesterskap for kor i Oslo. Konkurransen arrangeres av Norges Korforbund, og det er en spesiell klasse for ungdomskor hvor Oslo Barne- og Ungdomskorforbund er medarrangør. Påmelding til konkurransen skjer fram til 1. juni. Komposisjonskonkurranse - IFCM

IFCM has announced the 2nd International Competition for Choral Composers. The winning composer will receive a Prize of 5.000 EUR and the winning composition will be performed by the Philippine Madrigal Singers and used in a workshop with Voces8. Addressed to male, female, mixed, gospel, youth and children choirs; repertoire of folksongs without compulsory piece and difficulty level with at least one piece of folk music from the choir’s country of origin and one European folksong. The choir competition will take place in the spectacular setting of the Church of Santa Maria del Pì, in the historical “Barrio Gótico” of Barcelona. A beautiful Gala Dinner will close the Festival. A unique chance to mingle with choirs from all over the world. For the choirs who do not take part in the competition: SPECIAL FESTIVAL CATEGORY WITHOUT COMPETITION.

COMPETITION RULES - PRIZES - PROGRAM

COMPETITION RULES 1. Category Festival (Without Competition)  - In this category choirs will perform with a program of their choice (free program). The lenght of the performance must be of 16 minutes maximum. The choirs will sing in a special and different session than the competition. Choirs will be listened by one or more members of the international jury. - At the end of each choir’s performance, the jury members will be at the choir and conductor’s disposal for a short meeting and discussion. A written expert analysis will be drafted and sent to the choirs at the end of the Festival. - All choirs (male, female, mixed, youth, gospel choirs) can take part in this category. The number of choir members is not restricted. - Choirs in this category will not be ranked. - The instrumental accompaniment is permitted during the performance and is not compulsory prior confirmation of the Jury (choirs are kindly requested to communicate the song with instruments and the kind of instrument). - Choirs enrolling in this category will also take part in the other music activities such as the open air concert and the choir parade. 2. Categories With Competition Male, female and mixed choirs, youth choirs and vocal ensembles may enrol. All the choir members, except the conductor, must be amateurs.  Competition’s entries fall into different categories all without level of difficulty and no set piece: Category M1 male choirs min. 40 voices Category M2 male choirs from 16 to 39 voices Category F1 female choirs min. 40 voices Category F2 female choirs from 16 to 39 voices Category X1 mixed choirs min. 40 voices Category X2 mixed choirs from 16 to 39 voices Category Y youth choirs max. 21 year old Category V vocal groups up to 12 voices Categoria G1 gospel choirs from 1 to 30 voices Categoria G2 gospel choirs min 30 voices Note: Choirs have to enrol in the category corresponding to their number of voices; enrolments in higher categories are not admitted. All choirs can only sing in more than one category if their composition and musical programme are radically changed. Men and women in mixed choirs may also enter for the men's and women's choir categories. 3. Repertoire In all categories the repertoire must include a cappella folksongs; original compositions cannot be performed. The choirs should perform at least one folksong of their country of origin and one European folksong. All songs have to be performed in their original language. The instrumental accompaniment is permitted during the performance and is not compulsory prior confirmation of the Jury (choirs are kindly requested to communicate the song with instruments and the kind of instrument). The length of the performance must be minimum 12 and maximum 20 minutes, not intending the length of each separate work but the complete performance from the beginning of the first work to the end of the last piece. Performances in a tonality different from the original score are allowed but they must be previously communicated to the jury. 4. Jury  The jury’s decisions are final and binding. No appeals through the courts may be made. The deliberations of the jury are not public. After the prizes have been awarded, the choir directors may meet the members of the jury to discuss the results. All the competition events are public. 5. Assessment criteria  a) technique b) artistry PRIZES  Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded for each category. Basing on a maximum of 100 marks, the medals will be awarded as follows: 70,00 - 79,99 marks - Bronze 80,00 - 89,99 marks - Silver 90,00 - 100,00 marks - Gold One single money prize will be given in each category to the choir which has achieved the highest marks. Maria del Pì. - Evening: Inaugural concert (Church S. Maria del Pì, Pl. S. Maria del Pì). Thursday, 20th September 2012 - Morning: rehearsal and I part of the competition  in the  Church S. Maria del Pì (Pl. S. Maria del Pì). - Afternoon/Evening: rehearsal and II part of the competition  in the  Church S. Maria del Pì (Pl. S. Maria del Pì). Friday, 21th September 2012 - Morning: performances for choirs enrolling in the FESTIVAL category (Church S. Maria del Pì, Pl. S. Maria del Pì). -In the afternoon announcement of the winner choirs, prize awarding ceremony. Performance by all choirs of the common chant “Ode An die Freude” (Church S. Maria del Pì, Pl. S. Maria del Pì). -At the end of the concert, “Fiesta Catalana” with a special greet by the President of the Festival. Saturday, 22nd September 2012 - in the morning Open-air concert. - End of Festival and Departure. The organiser reserves the right to make any changes required due to technical reasons. If the minimum number of participants has not been reached within the subscription deadline, the competition will be transformed into a choir festival. Choirs that have subscribed will be entitled to take part in the choir festival, i.e. perform in all the concerts, parades and other performances scheduled, or obtain the refund of the deposit. Hans Urrigshardt INTERNATIONAL JURY Michael Rinscheid  Musician and choir director, Germany President of the Jury of the International Choral Festival “Europe and its songs” Michael Rinscheid is the chief conductor of the Sängerbund Rheinland Pfalz, the President of the German Choir Conductor Association (FDB-Fachverband Deutscher Berufs-Chorleiter), a member of the music association ‘Sängerbund NRW’, a Board member of national and international choir competitions (Verona, Prague, Barcellona, etc.), Professor of Choir Direction, and honorary citizen of Nebraska and of its capital city Lincoln (USA). He works with the St. Petersburg Chamber Choir, the Wesleyan University Choir, and with other important institutions in the U.S.A. He is very well known due to his choirs performing in concerts and choir competitions in Germany and abroad. He studied at the Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz where he got the diplomas in Choir and Orchestra Direction. Kai Tõe Ellermaa  Musician and choir director, Estonia Kai-Tõe Ellermaa is the founder and has been the conductor of the girl’s choir Elise since 1990. She started choir-conducting studies in Tartu Music School. She got the higher music education in Tallinn Conservatoire. She has conducted the girls choir “Nurmenukk”, the children’s choir “Pöial-Liisi” and also the chamber-choir “Ave Canto” of Pärnu town. She has sung for years in the chamber-choir of Estonian choir-conductors and participated in the workshop Europa Cantat in Austria, in international festivals and also in the seminars held in Estonia in Vana-Vigala and Sauga. Felix Resch  Musician and choir director, Italy Felix Resch is professor for “Harmonie- and Formenlehre” at the Music Academy “C. Monteverdi” of Bozen (Italy) and works as a composer and choral conductor. He was born in Brixen (Italy) in 1957 and graduated in choral music and choral conducting at the Music Academy in Bozen. His work was shown at contemporary music festivals and won prices at international and national competitions in Antwerpen, Trieste, Uster, Interlaken, Verona, Szombathely, Riva del Garda, Arezzo, Recklinghausen, Innsbruck, Spittal a.d. Drau, Bozen, Bruneck, and Prag. Resch`s orchestral and choral work has been published in Tv (Rai, ORF, SFS), on the radio, and on CD. Konkuranse i Valmiera (Latvia)

9th INTERNATIONAL YOUTH CHOIR FESTIVAL - COMPETITION

10-11  March  2012, Valmiera, Latvia

1. The aim of the festival:

• to attract the audience of young people to traditions of chorus singing,
• to promote a capella singing traditions in Latvia,
• to make contacts of co-operation and friendship with other choir staffs from other cities, villages abroad.

2. The organizers of the festival: Valmiera State Gymnasium, the youth choir
BONUS with the support of Valmiera City Council.

3. The participants of the festival:
Group A – youth choirs (age untill 28)
Group B -  school choirs
Group C – ensembles (3-16 participants)

4. The place of the festival: Valmiera State Gymnasium, Valmiera Culture Centre, St.Simon’s Church.

12pm – 5pm             Arrival of contestants. Rehearsal.

European Award for Choral Composers (EACC)

Ønsker du å delta med en eller flere komposisjoner i European Award for Choral Composers, må du sende bidraget via oss innen 27. februar 2012.


Attached you will find the rules and regulations for the new European Award for Choral Composers which is the successor to the successful Golden Tuning Fork Award, run since 1988 by AGEC. The award, which was also shortly presented at our General Assembly, will have three different categories: 


(a) a cappella choir (classical)
(b) choir accompanied by up to four instrument (classical)
(c) jazz composition for a cappella choir or choir accompanied by up to three instruments. 


Only member organisations of the European Choral Association - Europa Cantat may submit compositions until March 1st 2012, and the winning compositions will be premiered at the EUROPA CANTAT XVIII festival in Turin in 2012.

REGULATIONS
1. Organization

• The competition for the EACC is held every year. 
• The announcement of the competition will be made by the ECA-EC as well as by the national and regional member federations. 
• Choral compositions can only be nominated by a national or regional federation, member of ECAEC, and have to be sent in PDF format to the office of the ECA-EC before the 1st of March 2012. 
• A composition which has received an award in any other competition, may not be submitted. It may, however, have been performed and/or published.  
• A composition may not be entered for this competition more than twice. 
• The submitted compositions have to be accompanied by the artistic curriculum of the composer, 
• mentioning his or her date of birth and the year when the work was written, and the duration of the piece. 
• The office distributes the received scores to the members of the jury anonymously. (ie without the composer’s name, sex, age or nationality)   
• The jury examines the scores, taking its decisions before the end of the current year. The results will be communicated immediately to the participating federations.  

2. The competitors and their works 

• Each composition can be submitted to one of the following three categories: 

1. choir a cappella (classical) 
2. choir accompanied by up to four instrument (classical)
3. a jazz composition for choir a cappella or accompanied by up to three instruments. 

• All compositions should be able to be performed by good average choirs.  
• Up to three works in each category can be nominated by the same choral federation, composed by one or different authors within the past five years. 
• The choice of the text is free, on the condition that the composer is formally authorized by the author or editor to use this text (if appropriate). 
• Every choral formation from three to eight vocal parts is possible (mixed or equal voices). 
• The performance time of a composition is limited between minimum three and maximum nine minutes.  

3. The jury and the quotation

• The admitted compositions are quoted by a jury of minimum four members, together with the president of the ECA music commission (five members overall), all choral conductors or composers.  
• The jury will deliberate and decide amongst themselves, the winner of each category. There will be a winner for each section (1), (2) and (3). The jury reserves the right not to nominate a winner in any of the categories. 
• The jury has the right of interpretation of the rules in case of unforeseen elements. 
• The decision of the jury is final and cannot be challenged. 

4. Awards

• Each awarded work will be performed at least once by the good care of the national of regional federation of its origin and this before the end of the year following the year of awarding. 
• By the good care of the ECA-EC each awarded work will be programmed within a reasonable term by the EuroChoir and/or at another choral event organized by ECA-EC or one of its members.   
• ECA-EC will use their best endeavours to promote the publication and the spreading of the awarded scores.  

5. Acceptance agreement

• The board of ECAEC as well as the participating national and regional federations and the participating composers accept the rules of the European Award for Choral Composers as a whole.
