Stor, internasjonal sanguke i Frankrike | Påmeldingsfrist 31. mars

Etter den fantastiske suksessen med den fjerde CHORALP International Singing Week I Briançon i fjor, med over 300 sangere fra hele Europa tilstede, er det nå snart klart for den femte utgaven av CHORALP International Singing Week!

Det tilbys et original og variert repertoar under ledelse av internasjonalt anerkjente instruktører, dette i en magisk setting i Hautes Alpes ved Provence.

SommerSangUka 2014

SommerSangUka arrangeres for 6. gang i Midt-Norge, på Torshus Folkehøgskole i uke 33, 11-15 august.

Årets tema er New York, New York, en musikalsk smeltedigel! På broadway finner man de beste musikalene, Apollo Theater var startpunktet for de største stjernene innen soul, jazz og RnB, og The Village var sentrum for de største singer-songwriterne i USA. Bli med å syng!

Workshops

SommerSangUka har 3 workshopgrupper inndelt etter alder.

Hver workshop har sitt eget tema, og sangerne øver frem mot
fremføring på avsluttende konsert på fredag 15. august for
venner og familie. Instruktørene er svært dyktige og har vært
med på SommerSangUka opptil flere ganger før.

Felleskor
I felleskoret deltar alle og det øves inn låter til avslutningskonserten.

Fordypningsemne
Deltagerne velger mellom fire forskjellige fordypningsfag:
det kan være dans, låtskriving, samspill eller andre temaer
instruktørene våre er spesialister på.

Vi har også egen koreograf med koreografiundervisning og regi på avslutningskonserten! I tillegg har vi sang/gehørsundervisning. Våre ungdomsassistenter står for artige fellesaktiviteter.

SommerSangUka er fem dager fylt med sang og moro, og avsluttes med hentekonsert for venner og familie. Møte gamle og nye venner, delta i sosiale fellesaktiviteter, spill, syng, dans og le!

Let’s travel! med Basilio Astulez

Ung i Kor sitt årlige kurs for dirigenter er blitt en av landets viktigste møteplasser for oss som arbeider med barne- og ungdomskor. Hvert år samles dirigenter fra hele landet for faglig påfyll fra dyktige instruktører. Men vel så viktig er anledningen til å dele erfaringer og utfordringer med kolleger.

Kurset holdes i Stjørdal. Dit kan du reise med tog, fly, buss eller bil. Stjørdal ligger rett ved Trondheim lufthavn. Vi skal bo på Quality Airport Hotel Værnes, og kommer til å arbeide i Stjørdal kino (som ligger rett over gata fra hotellet).

"Let’s travel – a bit of all"

Lurer du på hvordan du skal varme opp dine korister? Har du gått lei av det du pleier å gjøre på prøvene? Trenger du påfyll og inspirasjon? 10. til 12. januar 2014 kan du lære noen knep av en ekspert på dette feltet! Vi setter fokus på unge korsangere og deres stemmer, og vi får gode tips og eksempler på hvordan å lede oppvarming og prøver på best mulig måte! Basilio kommer til å bruke sanger fra hele kloden, og med hjelp av dem vise hvordan man kan engasjere barn og unge på en pedagogisk måte. I tillegg vil du treffe mange andre som sitter i samme båt, og det vil finnes tid å utbytte erfaringer, ideer, tips og triks.

Kurset er rettet til deg som dirigerer barne- og ungdomskor, til musikklærere og til unge sangere som vil lære mer om dirigering og ledelse av barne- og ungdomskor.

Om Basilio Astulez

Basilio kommer fra Baskerland i Spania hvor han har studert kordireksjon med bl.a. Javier Busto. Mellom 1994 og 2005 var han lærer i korsang på Alegría-Dulantzi musikkskole i Álava. Samtidig dirigerte han damekoret Aiala Abesbatza som han vunnet flere priser med. I 1999 grunnla han damegruppen Vocalia Taldea, som også de har fått fine priser på korkonkurranser rundt om i Europa.

Basilio underviser i korsang på Leioa Municipal Music Conservatory, og grunnla i 2000 ungdomskoret Leioa Kantika Korala, og SJB mixed choir i 2007. SJB har over 200 sangere mellom 9 og 20 år, og har allerede vunnet mange priser i Spania og Europa.

Basilio har turnert mye som dirigent med sine kor i Europa og USA, og er en etterspurt workshopleder og jurymedlem. I 2008 fikk han pris som beste dirigent i korkonkurransen Seghizzi International Choral Competition i Italia, og i 2009 fikk han den tilsvarende prisen i korkonkurransen i Tours i Frankrike.

Friday Afternoons is an international singing project led by Aldeburgh Music, culminating on Britten’s birthday –  22 November 2013.

Friday Afternoons is a set of 12 songs composed by Benjamin Britten between 1933 and 1935. The simple songs, with witty piano accompaniments, are dedicated to Britten’s schoolmaster brother, Robert, and the boys of Clive House preparatory school, Prestatyn – a school in which choir practice and singing lessons regularly took place on aFriday afternoon.

Based on this set of songs, and forming part of Aldeburgh Music’s Britten Centenary programme and the worldwide Britten 100 celebrations, Aldeburgh Music has conceived this year-long project to highlight the composer’s legacy of work for young people and to encourage more singing in schools. It culminates on Friday 22 November 2013, when tens of thousands of people from across the UK will join together to sing the songs.

This website is available, free of charge, to aid the teaching of Friday Afternoons, and to put the songs into context. You will find lesson plans, downloadable scores and backing tracks, easy ensemble arrangements, biographical information, a photo archive and interactive timeline, and much more…

Eric Ericson International Choral Center i Stockholm arrangerer dirigentkurs 17.-21.august med tema "Musical Leadership for a New Century"

Norges Ungdomskor samstemt etter øvingshelg i operaen!

Norges Ungdomskor med dirigent Tone Bianca Sparre Dahl forbereder seg til konkurranse i Gorizia i sommer, men før det skal koret på tur til Ungarn og Slovenia.

I midten av juli drar Norges Ungdomskor til Veszprém i Ungarn for å øve i noen dager. I byen arrangeres annet hvert år en korkonkurranse og festival, Vivace festival, den samme organisasjonen som nå tar seg av Norges Ungdomskor sitt opphold. Dagene i Veszprém, avsluttes med konsert og så går turen videre til Slovenia hvor koret synger på Koper International Music Festival og i Postojna. Etter konkurransen i Gorizia avsluttes reisen hjemme i Norge med konsert i Oslo Domkirke den 23.juli.

Forrige helg hadde koret prøvehelg i Den Norske Opera og Ballett og dirigent Tone Bianca var veldig fornøyd med sangernes innsats. Det var høy konkurranse om plassene i år og det merkes på kvaliteten på koret.

Norges Ungdomskor består av 40 sangere fra hele landet som tas ut gjennom prøvesang. Mari Midtli som er 16 år og kommer fra Sel synger i koret, men er også med som solist på fele når koret skal synge folkemusikk. Det har allesammen tro på skal gå hjem i Gorizia!

Nå setter NORBUSANG i gang!

Ung Kirkesang klare til å ta imot 40 kor med totalt over 500 sangere fra hele Norden i Fredrikstad fra i morgen til søndag!

Siden 1987 møtes hvert år flere hundre unge sangere på festivalen Norbusang, hvert år i en ny nordisk by.

De nordiske barne- og ungdomskorforbundene samarbeider og tar tur om arrangørrollen. Sist Norbusang ble arrangert i Norge var det av Ung i Kor på Drøbak i 2008, og denne gangen er det altså Ung Kirkesang som er vertsorganisasjon. Tidligere UKOer (Ung i Kor Organisasjonsopplæring) Frida Ekerhovd og Silje Jahren er på plass som volontører fra Ung i Kor.

I løpet av tre dager får deltakerne synge med kjente dirigenter, alt fra klassisk kormusikk til folkemusikk, jazz, gospel og nyskrevet musikk. Ved siden av dette arrangeres det også seminarer for dirigentene om musikk, pedagogikk og mye annet. Korene har også mulighet å ha egne konserter i løpet av festivalen.

Urban Youth Choir Festival, June 14-20 201

Urban Youth Choir Festival is a youth event which we hope shall become a lasting feature in the culture life of the Örebro Region. For the first time in Europe we are presenting a festival for young people, where the joy and feeling from the dancing floor or the cheering crowd on a football ground are tied with organized choir singing. Do YOU love music such as r’n’b, indie, singer/songwriter, hip hop, punk or some other form of music? Then YOU have the chance to experience something new. In June 14-20 2013 in Örebro, Sweden young people from different cultural background and varying musical level of skill will get together to experience and perform Urban Youth Choir Music! We provide challenges for YOU who is an experienced singer/performer with a band or from auditions. And YOU who is inexperienced but still want to sing and hang out with a cool crowd are equally welcome.

World Peace Choral festival

World Peace Choral Festival 2013

July 29th to August 1st 2013, Vienna, Austria

From July 29th to August 1st 2013, Vienna, the world capital of music, will be once again the stage for children's and youth choirs from all around the world. Under the slogan "Coming together to sing, singing for a better future," the young participants will promote world peace by means of their music. The World Peace Choral Festival is aiming at enhancing intercultural understanding and communication in order to produce mutual respect and harmony.

The festival's highlights will include the opening ceremony in the Vienna City Hall, performances in front of the Royal Schonbrunn Palace and the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna, special concerts in churches and community culture centers, gala concerts in the world-famous Golden Hall of the Musikverein, where also the New Year's Concert with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra takes place on Jan. 1st of each year.

Let's sing hand in hand for world peace! All choirs are welcome to join in the "Celebration" category (non-competitive) of the festival! Workshops coached by the conductors of the Vienna Boys' choir will be provided to the choirs choosing this category. Let's try our best for world peace! The festival will open the new category "Competition". Choirs participating in this category will be judged by a jury consisting of internationally renowned choral masters.

Aside the rich artistic activities guided by the Artistic Committee, leisure programs including an open-air barbecue party with enchanting atmosphere will give the young singers a chance to get to know new cultures, traditions and make new friends from all parts of the world. No matter how different our languages might be, the languages of music and dancing are universal and have the power to connect.

In the course of the festival, the Artistic Committee under the leadership of Gerald Wirth, artistic director of the Vienna Boys' Choir, will select particularly gifted singers for the World Peace Choir again. In the coming years, the choir should travel around the globe to give concerts promoting world peace. The first tour is planned to travel to China in 2013.

Internasjonal korfestival i Derry

We are delighted to announce the inaugural City of Derry International Choral Festival, to be held from 24th to 27th October 2013 as part of the city's year-long celebrations as the first UK City of Culture.

Created as a joyous celebration of choral music-making, the festival will provide opportunities for competitive and non-competitive participation for singers across a wide range of styles, ensembles and ages. The choral activities will begin with a school focus where primary and post-primary choirs can enjoy the excitement of competing, and take part in professionally-led workshops with renowned choral directors.

National choirs from Ireland and the UK will be invited to participate in a variety of competitions and performances, including Mixed Voice, Equal Voice, Youth, Gospel and Barbershop categories.

The International Competition will provide the highlight of the choral festival with top-class performances from some of the world’s most accomplished choirs, who will compete for a prestigious locally-designed trophy as well as a significant monetary award.

Aside from the competitive focus, the City of Derry will come alive with pop-up performances, high-quality concerts and educational activities providing a celebration of everything choral music has to offer.

An initiative of the City of Derry Civic Choirs with the support of Walled City Music, the festival hopes to establish itself firmly on the global calendar of international choral festivals for many years to come. Landsmøte i Ung i Kor

For første gang arrangerer Ung i Kor sitt landsmøte på sørlandet, nærmere bestemt i Arendal. Helgen 12.-14. april møter ca 55 tillitsvalgte og ansatte på Clarion hotell Tyholmen. 

Ung i Kor er en barne- og ungdomsorganisasjon og vi har med oss ca 30 ungdommer fra hele landet på landsmøtet. Disse ungdommene er en del av et to-årig opplæringsprosjekt som Ung i Kor har drevet gjennom en rekke år. Ca 15 ungdommer avslutter sin opplæring og like mange starter sin periode. Ungdommene får både organisasjonsoplæring og motivasjon til å fortsette med korsang og videre organisasjonsarbeid.

Vi ser fram til noen flotte dager i Arendal!

Ung i Kor gratulerer Skedsmo Voices!

Gull og sølv til Skedsmo Voices i internasjonal korkonkurranse!

Vokalensemblet til Skedsmo Voices tok både gull og sølv i korkonkurransen Young  Prague 2013, som gikk av stabelen denne helgen. 15 unge korister fra Skedsmo Voices reiste til Praha som eneste kor fra Norge for å måle seg med utenlandske kor. Det var deltakere fra alle verdensdeler og ungdommene fra Skedsmo møtte store kor som Traverse City West Senior High School Choral-Aires fra USA og Puellae et Pueri fra Tsjekkia, samt andre kor fra Slovenia, Island og Sverige, men dommerne lot seg imponere over den rene klangen og det varierte og spennende repertoaret fra skedsmokoret. 

Vokalensamblet deltok i to kategorier; Mixed Choir og Spiritual, Gospel, jazz and pop, og sang seg til en sølvplass i klassen for mixed choir. Dommerne måtte imidlertid gi seg helt over når koret serverte Fredrik Otterstads arrangement av Griegs Dovergubbens hall og gospellåta Wade in the water i klassen for rytmisk musikk/ spiritual og Gospel. Når Skedsmoungdommen avsluttet et improvisert potpurri over norske folketoner var seieren sikret. I tillegg til korkonkuransen sang Skedsmo Voices konsert i en fullsatt St. Nicholas Chuch i hjertet av Praha. Koret imponerte og det var mange godord i kjølvannet av seieren. Vokalensamblet er også invitert på gjenvisitt til flere kor i Tsjekkia.

Skedsmo voices ble startet av Dirigent Ingrid Danbolt i 2005. På 7 år har koret vokst til å bli et stort kormiljø vi kjenner fra flere konsertarrangementer og ikke minst musikalen Dropout, som har blitt vist både i Lillestrøm, Lørenskog og i Den Norske Opera. Vokalensamblet er en gruppe av de eldste i koret og som gjerne ”strekker seg litt lengre” for å nå sine mål. Og som de har vist: det gir resultater.

The Atelier - a unique experience

Do you belong to the next generation of artistic festival directors? Do you feel the need to broaden your programming skills, grow your network and get inspired by your peers and experienced forerunners? Are you excited to dig into the cultural and festival life in Ljubljana?

The Atelier for Young Festival Managers is a unique, intense, 7-day training programme initiated by the European Festivals Association.

Motto of the Atelier

The sentence borrowed from Bernard Faivre d’Arcier “The true role of a festival is to help artists to dare, to engage in new pro­jects…” (lecture on the future of festivals in February 2006) is the motto of the Atelier. Particular emphasis is given to the artis­tic aspects of festival management. This touches upon artistic vision, political and social responsi­bility, internationalisation, networking, renewal and sustainability.

A unique programme

ARTISTIC – EXCLUSIVE – PROCESS – EXPERIENCE – GLOBALISATION – LOCAL

• The Atelier helps emerging directors and focuses on the artistic role of festivals, touching upon all artistic disciplines.
• The care taken in the selection of 45 young festival managers and ten mentors from all over the world, the hosting cities, venues and the framework is core to providing the group with excellent conditions for personal, in-depth discussions.
• A 7-day intense working space allows young managers to step out of their daily context and enrich it through carefully developed and balanced lectures, workshops, papers, one-to-one conversations and informal talks.
• A distinguished group of mentors develops the programme and guides the participants throughout the week. The effect of the Atelier does not just last for seven days but creates new and enduring networks and a sustainable platform for exchange.
• While the Atelier is embedded in its host city, an international and global approach allows participants to compare their views with colleagues from different contexts and artistic disciplines.

Presenters

Festival leaders from all over the world guide the participants through the Atelier under the coordinator of Hugo De Greef (Former EFA Secretary General, General Manager Bruges European Capital of Culture 2002, Founder and former Director Kaaitheater). They are well known for their direction of festivals and artistic programming. Many of them have re-defined the concept of an “excellent festival” by developing completely new festivals or by transforming existing ones. Their experiences – their successes and failures, artistic principles and co-operation projects – are passed on through the Atelier. So far, 28 festival directors from all over the world have taken part in previous Ateliers.

Participants

The Atelier is especially designed for those who are working or have ambitions to become in­volved in programming or in programming-related departments within a festival. The Atelier enlarges young festival managers’ personal horizons and their perspective on festivals and programming practices all over the world. It equips them with a new network of international contacts which strengthens the dialogue between these ‘leaders of now and the future’. 172 young festival managers from 52 countries and 28 mentors and presenters from 16 countries have exchanged views and inspired each other so far.

Fortsatt plass for norske kor!

The Association of Finnish Youth Choirs (Nuorten Kuoroliitto) organises the next international Sympaatti festival in Rovaniemi, Finland on 5–8 December 2013

With events all around wintry Rovaniemi, the festival will focus on the themes of Christmas and Finnish and Sámi music. Sympaatti offers children and adolescents workshops, wonderful concerts, multi-cultural social events and Christmas experiences. An international choir conductor forum will also be held for visiting conductors. And after the Festival there will is possibility to go on concert tour. Concert venues will include Rovaniemi Church, Lappia Hall (if the renovation is completed in time) and Korundi House of Culture. There will also be minor performing opportunities at schools, shopping centres, hospitals, old people’s homes and Santa Park. Accommodation will be available in a variety of forms: family accommodation, hostels or camp centres, and hotels.

Workshops

One of the most important activity on the festival are the workshops. The famous finnish artists and choir conducters will offer their knowledge to both singers and choir conductors.

Sören Lillkung - Complete Vocal Technique

Singer - actor - choir conducter Sören is a specialist for healthy vocal technique. He asks: Is there anything you can't do with your voice? And he answers: No. Everything is possible as long as you produce the sound with a right technique. So come and explore you own voice and the limitless possibilities it offers!

Sanna Valvanne - Sing and shine
Sanna is widely known childen's and youth choir conducter, who currently lives and works in New York. She will guide you in to the holistic singing experience: Sing and shine with body and soul.

Ursula Länsman - Joik
Ursula will guide you to the traditional singing of Sami people. You will discover the unique form of cultural expression that can be deeply personal or spiritual in nature.

  

Participation fees

The amount, here per person, includes accommodation, meals, workshops, the songbook and the guide with the festival programme. Accommodation will be available in a variety of forms: family accommodation, hostels or camp centres, and hotels.

The prices include accommodation from 5th to 8th Dec, all meals, workshops, concerts and the sheet music for the joint repertoire.

Applying choirs must fill in the application form. A link to the form will be posted on the website when the application period begins. A brief CV (max. 1,200 characters) and photos must be enclosed with the application.
